Description: |
Notice of Intent to Award a Cooperative Agreement to the University of California in support of the project entitled “Southern California Earthquake Center”. The project objectives include: (1) Modeling the Fault System, (2) Understanding Earthquake Processes, (3) Characterizing Seismic Hazards, and (4) Reducing Seismic Risk. The topical elements within these thematic areas cover a wide spectrum of activities including gathering basic data, compiling data into Community Models, developing physics-based models of earthquake rupture and ground motion characterization, improving probabilistic seismic hazard analysis and operational earthquake forecasting, and applying these results and models to help reduce seismic risk |
