Description: Funds are available to one recipient to work in collaboration with the CDC/Tuberculosis Elimination to strengthen collaborations between CDC and the National Tuberculosis (TB) Controllers that will lead to the control and ultimate elimination of tuberculosis in the United States. The purpose of the funding is to support the recipient’s efforts to 1) maintain an effective communication capacity among the nation’s TB Controllers and the TB professionals; (2) sustain a capacity for coordinating a rapid, comprehensive assessment of problems and opportunities in the field of TB prevention and control; (3) maintain the capacity to coordinate the consultations and collaborations that produce a front-line perspective on the fast-moving programmatic, scientific, and technological issues affecting the national objectives relative to TB elimination in the United States; (4) assist in identifying TB training needs; (5) continue the capacity for cataloging and tracking the public and private assets of the nation’s TB elimination effort; (6) evaluate project effectiveness and impact toward accomplishing goals and objectives established as part of this project to measure progress.
