Description: |
This NOFO supports implementation of programs and activities that focus on protecting and improving health globally and implementing the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) through partnership with Tanzania’s President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG). PORALG’s mandate is the interpretation, operationalization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health security policies, guidelines, and strategies at the sub-national level. PORALG coordinates the provision of health services and sector development with Regional Secretariats and Local Government Authorities. This NOFO supports three main strategic areas: prevent avoidable epidemics, detect threats early, and respond rapidly and effectively to potential events of concern for public health and health security and advance support for multisectoral engagement, including human and animal health in high-risk districts. Activities include: improve sharing of best practices, use relevant tools to promote health security, strengthen accountability and transparency of data sharing, and participate in regional and national health security initiatives. Outcomes include: strengthening capacities to prevent, detect, respond to potential events of concern for public health and health security to establish and promote local leadership and ownership in implementing the Tanzania National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS) in line with GHSA 2024 Framework (https://www.ghsagenda.org/ghsa2024). |
