The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $10,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) seeks to improve the quality of HIV/AIDS and TB service delivery at above site level through broad-based national Laboratory Systems Strengthening (LSS). It will support the strengthening of medical laboratory systems for diagnosis, management, and surveillance of HIV, TB, and other related opportunistic diseases. This laboratory system strengthening is for Viral Load (VL), Early Infant Diagnosis (EID), TB, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Accreditation, Test Kits Validation/Evaluation, Commodity Logistics, Equipment and Waste Management, other Public Health Interventions as well as the capacity-building of government institutions and personnel for sustainability through direct technical assistance. The Awardee(s), in addition to supporting the implementation of LSS at the above site will also provide support to the national and state governments in coordinating the National Laboratory Technical Working Group (NLTWG), National Medical Laboratory Policy, and National Medical Laboratory Strategic Plan activities. Awardee(s) will provide technical expertise and guidance in the expansion of access to quality laboratory services by strengthening Laboratory Information System (LIS), tiered laboratory networks, specimen referral system for CD4, HIV EID, HIV viral load, TB culture, HIV/TB drug resistance, strengthen biosafety, infection control, occupational health and safety, commodities logistics and medical waste management. |
