Description: Statewide Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs) are recognized networks of multidisciplinary teams improving population-level perinatal outcomes in a state by implementing quality improvement (QI) initiatives, which advance evidence-based clinical practices within healthcare centers and systems across the state. PQCs facilitate collaborative learning; provide technical assistance in conducting QI initiatives; and disseminate successful interventions, policies, and practice changes. The National Network of PQCs (NNPQC) provides comprehensive, coordinated technical support for PQCs nationwide. The purpose of this NOFO is to enhance PQCs’ capacity to make measurable improvements in perinatal healthcare and health outcomes statewide. Component A will support PQCs to increase capacity to rapidly conduct population-level perinatal QI initiatives in a state. QI initiatives will integrate strategies to address health disparities. Strategies will include using data that is timely, accurate and disaggregated across sub-populations to identify disparities and inform initiatives aiming to reduce them. Some example strategies include addressing underlying differences in social determinants of health and improving family and community engagement. Component B will support the coordinating center for the NNPQC to facilitate provision of technical assistance and capacity-building for all PQCs in the US to improve uptake of perinatal QI initiatives nationwide.
