Description: |
The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $50,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds. This NOFO will support the government of South Africa (SA) in the scale-up of Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) services in 27 high-HIV-burden districts, with a particular focus on areas with low male circumcision prevalence. Funding recipients will be expected to work closely with CDC, the government of SA, PEPFAR-supported implementing partners and other VMMC program stakeholders in order to achieve the following objectives: Objective 1: Promote the uptake of VMMC services amongst males ≥15 years of age (with a particular focus on the 15-29 y/o age group) through the implementation of effective and innovative demand creation strategies; Objective 2: Ensure the provision of high-quality, high-volume, cost-efficient VMMC services through means of appropriate service delivery modalities; Objective 3: Ensure that VMMC services are integrated and implemented as part of a package of comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment services; Objective 4: Manage the provision of appropriate and quality training, mentoring, skill building and continued education of various cadres of VMMC service delivery personnel; Objective 5: Manage the forecasting, procurement, quality assurance (QA), storage and distribution of VMMC surgical kits and other VMMC related commodities; and Objective 6: Support the transition of direct VMMC service delivery to public health facilities according to guidance from PEPFAR and the National Department of Health (NDoH). |
