Description:The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism intends to renew an initiative by publishing a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to solicit applications for an R01 Clinical Trial Optional mechanism focusing on health disparities and health services. This FOA will include five areas of focus: access to treatment, making treatment more appealing, costs, dissemination and implementation, and health disparities. Applications are expected to emphasize health disparities in addition to the other four areas of emphasis. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. The FOA is expected to be published in Winter 2021 with an expected application due date in Spring 2021. This FOA will utilize the R01 Clinical Trial Optional activity code. Details of the planned FOA are provided below.
