Description: |
The National HIV Curriculum e-Learning Platform: Enhancements and Operations will continue to respond to the need to update and enhance the National HIV Curriculum (NHC) and its supporting electronic platform. It will keep pace with the latest HIV science, treatment protocols, practices and federal guidelines for educating health professionals on the optimal care and treatment of people with HIV. The University of Washington convened a multidisciplinary panel of clinical and learning technology experts under the AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) Program to create the National HIV Curriculum e-Learning Platform. Released in July 2017, this free, online curriculum targets multidisciplinary novice-to-expert health professionals, students, and faculty who treat or aspire to treat people with or at risk for HIV. This project will manage the technological operation and maintenance of the NHC e-learning Platform. Further, it will maintain the platform’s capacity to support additional modules allowing the ability to support additional subject matter content/modules on the existing NHC e-Learning Platform in order to maintain state of the art HIV science, guidelines, and treatment protocols. Throughout the period of performance, the recipient will work in close coordination with recipients of awards under Notice of Funding Opportunity HRSA-22-XXX, Integrating the National HIV Curriculum e-Learning Platform into Health Care Provider Professional Education. Recipients under HRSA-22-XXX will be collaborating with multiple health professions’ academic and training institutions to incorporate the NHC e-Learning Platform into their curricula, including activities to train and orient faculty on effective methods to integrate the NHC. Building upon recommendations from the recipients under HRSA-18-045, the University of Washington will convene an advisory board on a quarterly basis to recommend and provide feedback on proposed changes to the National HIV Curriculum e-Learning Platform and communication of these changes. The advisory board will include recipients from HRSA-22-XXX, and NHC e-Learning Platform users that started integrating the platform. |
