Description: Funds are available to one recipient to mobilize and sustain support for tuberculosis (TB) elimination in the United States through the strengthening of strategic partnerships. The specific purpose of this funding opportunity is to 1) generate greater public and provider awareness about TB disease and latent TB infection (LTBI) and 2) educate and spur involvement of a diverse group of stakeholders at the national, state, and local levels. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to leverage existing organizational structures, networks, and communications platforms to increase community participation in national TB elimination efforts, with a particular focus on at-risk populations and health disparities. In addition to engaging the general public, at-risk communities, and providers, successful candidates will also demonstrate the ability to serve as a channel of scientific and public health knowledge regarding domestic TB elimination, including acting as a resource to policy makers. Through this funding opportunity, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention seeks to elevate overall awareness about the priorities of TB elimination in the United States, increase the number of at-risk persons tested and treated for LTBI, and, ultimately, reduce the incidence of TB disease.
