Description:The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to conduct research studies on influenza, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and other respiratory pathogens in South Africa. The National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) and the Center for Global Heath (CGH) are seeking to initiate a cooperative agreement with the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), Republic of South Africa, to conduct studies on the epidemiology, disease burden, transmission, risk factors for hospitalization and death from respiratory viral diseases, especially influenza and COVID-19. Data will be used to inform prioritization of public health interventions in high risk populations in South Africa.
