Description: |
This announcement is to provide public notice of the NPS's intentions to award financial assistance for the following project activities without competition to Cave Research Foundation (CRF). This project is to improve the management of the cave and karst resources at Buffalo National River (BUFF) through collaboration with the CRF. The agreement will be to document and monitor the rich biological, geological, paleontological, hydrological, and archeological diversity of cave and karst resources present at BUFF. White Nose Syndrome has upset the biological balance of the caves by decimating population of four cave dwelling bats. The documentation and monitoring by CRF will assist BUFF with developing an up-to-date cave management plan to guide an important form of recreational use. |
