Description: |
The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $3,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds. The NOFO will support Ivorian laboratory institutions and provide necessary interventions to achieve HIV epidemic control. This NOFO will complement PEPFAR clinical and community program interventions by increasing and sustaining access to quality laboratory services for all HIV patients on antiretroviral treatment (ART) in order to improve clinical outcomes and reduce new infections and HIV-associated morbidity and mortality in Côte d’Ivoire. Activities will consist of direct site support or technical assistance (TA), focusing on 5 strategies:•Coordinate the national specimen transportation system•Strengthen the national laboratory workforce, laboratory professional network, and lab-clinical interface•Integrate the laboratory management information system (LMIS) with the national health management information system (HMIS) to provide high quality laboratory and patient information across systems•Strengthen national laboratory policies and institutions and improve adherence to national guidelines•Implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) in all laboratory networks to increase the number of labs, points of care (POC), and voluntary counseling and testing sites (VCT) providing quality services The recipient will provide support and TA to the national public health laboratory (NPHL), HIV/AIDS program (PNLS), HMIS directorate (DIIS), district health teams, and PEPFAR implementing partners (IPs). The scope of the NOFO is nationwide with a focus on 60 PEPFAR-supported health districts. |
