Description: The U.S. Embassy in Conakry providessmall grants to registered self-help groups, community-based organizations,non-governmental organizations, and certain educational institutions. The objective is to aid groups developprojects that improve living conditions in their communities. This is an Annual Program Statement, whichoutlines our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and theprocedures for submitting requests for funding. Please carefully follow all instructionsbelow. Purpose of SmallGrants Embassy Conakry invites proposalsfor small community projects. Theprogram is designed to improve basic economic and social conditions in localcommunities and support high impact, quick implementation activities thatbenefit a large number of people. Participatingcommunities provide a significant contribution in cash, labor, and materials.The demand for Small Grant funds is very high and well above our fundingcapacity. Consequently, priority isgiven to projects which best meet the program’s objectives and criteria.Examples of U.S. Embassy Community Small Grants Program projects include, butare not limited to: · Incomegenerating activities · Developmentactivities · Improvedaccess to potable water · Vocationaland educational training · Healthand nutrition activities · Agriculturaland nature improvement projects;
