Description: |
The Sea Duck Joint Venture (SDJV) is a conservation partnership under the North American Waterfowl Management Plan. Its mission is to promote the conservation of North American sea ducks by providing greater scientific knowledge and understanding of sea duck biology and ecology to support more effective management. In this Notice of Funding Opportunity, the SDJV seeks to fund a study that will acquire information, at a broad scale, for basic population and habitat use modeling that can be used to assess sea duck management options. Funds are available to support a study which uses telemetry data to better define population structure, delineate key sites, understand habitat requirements, and inform monitoring efforts for North American sea ducks. The study will have three main objectives: completion of single-species annual-cycle movement analyses, extend and expand network models and habitat analyses, and assess transmitter effects using state-space models of behavior. |
